March is a transition month from winter into spring (or summer into fall for our neighbors to the south).
When we are mindful about our transitions, we can leverage them to create forward momentum in our wellness goals (or any goals for that matter).
Speaking from a personal perspective for a moment, I must say that I am really ready for the warmer weather! I am looking forward to warm sunny skies and flowers blooming. We’ve had a lot of snow and sub-freezing temperatures this month, and if I don’t use my ‘wellness muscle’ to focus on what’s good about that, I can forget the gifts in this weather.
What are the gifts of late-winter?
By late-winter, most of us have already gotten to experience our favorite parts of the season, and we are starting to stir and feel ready to blossom into spring. Yet, winter hangs around just a little longer than it’s usually welcome in our hearts…. and that can either be annoying or it can be an opportunity to invite more wellness into our lives.
Late- winter can be our opportunity to do one last bit of introspection before we start moving to the quicker and more out-and-about pace of spring.

I was watching an interview with Sir Richard Branson (creator and chairman of the Virgin empire) and he said something that really struck me… he was talking about his charitable organization Virgin Unite and he said that the Virgin team leverages their creativity, entrepreneurial ideas, and business skills and apply those skills to their charitable work.
I know this isn’t ground-breaking news, but it’s worth it to really notice what it means for us and our Vitality… he LEVERAGES his gifts and applies them in many areas of his life.

We all shine in some aspect of our lives. (and if you happen to be going through a rough patch at the moment, just look back into your personal history)
I invite you right now to think about where you shine.
Now, think about what skills and personal talents you bring to that situation. It’s worth the 1-2 minutes… what skills do you leveraging in the aspects of your life that you shine?
Are you great with people? Are you creative? Are you interesting? Are you interested? Are you consistent? Are you fun? Are you great at follow through? What is it for you???
Now that you have that top of mind… in the coming days, think about one tiny way you can apply that skill or special talent towards your wellness and vitality.
