New blog post from Lucy, the girl from down under…
Welcome to my first blog ever. I was inspired to write it when I met the beautiful Simona. So why I am writing a blog on this already fascinating and resourceful website? It was actually a conversation I had with Simona in the ladies’ bathroom…for all your other ladies reading this you will know what I mean! ….those indepth conversations that are had over the sinks and in front of the mirrors!! For all the men reading this.. it is a world that you shouldn’t try and understand just know that you can get yourself another drink and have some man time, down time whatever time you require when your lady says she is just popping to the bathroom…FYI a lady NEVER pops to the bathroom!!I feel this blogpost is for those of you who are at the stage in their life where you want to live a healthy and well balanced life and learn from someone who has changed certain things and implemented certain things and achieved results that has made a positive impact. Everyone’s body is different with different lifestyle factors meaning that everyone’s needs are very different. So whilst I will share with you my golden nuggets (with no KFC or Mc Donalds) in sight! I do appreciate that some may change your life like they have mine and some may just end up as kindling on the fire never to be repeated again!
Back to how I met Simona…. the words FueltheBodyWell.com on her top envoked a conversation…I get very excited about fueling the body well and especially when I hear Simona’s amercian accent!
I have over the years tapped into a large resource pool to fuel my body well. Why? Because at the age of 18 I experienced a time when I didn’t fuel the body well and for three years struggled to overcome an eating disorder that meant I gained three stone in weight and ballooned three dress sizes. It affected who I was, how I thought and how I lived my life. I won’t use this article as a tool for me to unburden my emotional past…phew I hear you say…I just believe I have learnt some incredible tools and health tips that have allowed me stabilise my weight to a size I feel proud of and a body image I can look at in the mirror and on some days when I am feeling really liberated to say …. Lucy, you rock!!!! I am curvy and I know there is always improvement but it is a healthy start to begin with a positive body image and I encourage each one of you reading to do the same. Celebrate the parts of you that you know are damn right sexy, trust me they outweigh and not literally the parts that I call work in progress!!
What I have learnt the most is that for anyone to have a body they are proud of and to feel great about themself it is the mental battle that must be overcome and won. The time when you can confidently say I may not be where I want to be but I am headed in the right direction! The time in your life when you can be totally honest with yourself about what food means to you. I am not writing this blog because I have sucessfully mastered all areas of nutrition but I can impart wisdom that I have learnt and am learning everyday through a high level of interest in how to live a healthy life.
