Fuel Flower or food pyramid?

By Simona Vivi Hadjigeorgalis

When you were growing up, did you learn about the food pyramid?

Fuel FlowerFood-Focused Methodology?

If you were taught the food pyramid, that means at a very impressionable age, you learned a one-sized fits all eating solution. You also learned an exclusively food-focused methodology.

Food is important, as a matter of fact, I have a full chapter of my book focused on nourishing foods. However, it’s also important for us to remind ourselves that we are fueled on so much more than food.

Fuel Flower

The Fuel Flower is a better food pyramid.

The fuel flower reminds us that food is only part of the way we fuel our bodies well. It also reminds us that our bodies are individual, and while we are certainly similar to other people, we are each unique. Therefore, what fuels each of our bodies well is also similar and yet unique.

Create your Own Fuel Flower

Creating your own fuel flower is a 3-step process.

  • Step 1: Create a list of things that fuel you Here are a few hints to get you started: smiles, laughter, a positive relationship with yourself, cell nourishing breath
  • Step 2: Draw a flower with as many petals as you have fuels You may want to add a few extra petals in case you think of something more later.
  • Step 3: Look at your fuel flower. Allow your eyes to soak it in.Our fuel flowers can remind us to fuel our bodies well, and they can remind us of our own personal recipe for fueling ourselves for a Vibrant and Well life.

What are the petals of your fuel flower?

I’d love to hear from you… comment below, or send me an email…
